I offer those if you still being tossed and turned by the waves of awakening an old post of mine. Just 29 months ago I was still in the phase of everything being topsy turvy to challenge my overactive nervous system and show me all the places I had not yet loved into integration. Someone just commented on it and thus brought it back to my awareness.
I remember this experience in San Francisco when my GPS failed (in more ways than one), the car I was following left me behind at a red light and I had four jumpy teenagers bombarding me with conflicting directions as we were on our way to a school sponsored field trip to a musical at night! I thought the top of my head would come off or my nervous system would simply short out!!!!!! Rereading that story, which I had totally forgotten, reminds me of how difficult my life still was, how much courage it took to stay the course, how much faith I had to rest on to keep moving forward. What had begun to shift for me back then was an increased neutrality to what arose, increased acceptance which was the beginning of the end of that period of strong suffering. Beloveds, may we all dig deep knowing the end of a the rainbow is an inner peace and feeling of Homecoming that makes the journey worth the price of admission. We are blessed to life in a time where awakening is not just for those sitting silently in their caves contemplating their navels. It is now available to more of us. This does NOT mean I have no challenges, I live in la la land, it is not like that for me. It is simply that I live in peace with inner spaciousness and occasional starburst of joy.
