As people sang happy birthday, I literally clapped my hands into light (ha was supposed to say in delight. Yet into light maybe works better.) in those moments I’m super aware of the presence and energetics of the divine child within.
She started showing up maybe a year or year and a half ago much more frequently. She laughs often and much, often deep deep belly laughs. She’s very mysterious and mischievous and carry so much life force.
For many decades she was buried under conditioning, limitation, maybe even some trauma. Her voice had been silenced. Miraculous to meet her again. Of course she is simply a part of me, she is simply me.
When I started committing fully to joy 3 1/2 years ago, Joy was my rare experience. I have a photo of myself taken on top of a beautiful restaurant in Peron, Slovenia. I had it framed because in that moment I knew I was in joy. We had a view of the Mediterranean, the weather was perfect, my companion was perfect the drink was perfect. External circumstances had penetrated the deep deep dive into shadow that had been continuous for years. But it was very short-lived and very dependent on external circumstances.
The Joy now is saying yes to the present moment. Two hours ago I was in a deep dive to the energetics of envy. It was very quiet, very still, very deep internal process. Yet I would also call it joy. Joy is often in the simple things seeing the flowers, laying on the rocks, smiling at a stranger. Yet the deepest joy of all? Saying a profound and wholehearted yes to the present moment whatever it brings. More and more of my experience. A decade ago if you had told me it was possible, I might have doubted it. Now I have the story that this is increasingly available to each of us as we choose to take the deep inner dives. At least that’s my experience. May we all enjoy living As divine beings having a human experience. What a kick in the pants to finally be able to enjoy being human.
