My new friend Ellen’s family member was 500 meters from the hypocenter of the Hiroshima bomb. Hearing her speak about it affected me deeply. Tomorrow is the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. My Grandfather’s youngest brother, Minikichi was within 500 metres of the hypocentre of the Hiroshima bomb. And his wife Sumie and their daughter were in the city that day. These are Auntie Sumie’s words describing that day.
