What is the difference between Spiritual Obedience and Obedience to Spirit?
In Spiritual Obedience, we try to manipulate our experience from the external through routine, repetition, and self denial…all of which ignores our true Divine Essence and keeps one anchored in a frequency of fear and doubt. We adopt other’s perspectives, believing they know better than our Selves, following another’s journey and negating our own soul’s perfection and uniqueness. Although on a subtle level this may create a mild sense of security (mostly due to the logical mind believing the falsehood that if one performs in certain ways, then Heaven shall be granted), in the core of your Being there is a knowingness of one’s misalignment with Self (like something is not quite right, but you just can not put your finger on it), which then creates more angst and confusion. “I thought if I did x, y, and z that I would feel a certain way or my life would look a particular way.” The inner child, who is the seedling of the Higher Self, feels unsafe due to being ignored and perhaps even chastised for not responding in a specific way and, therefore, creates imbalance and chaos simply to get your attention (like any neglected child screaming out to be loved). This then leads to more confusion and self doubt, and the cycle of Self denial through Spiritual obedience is perpetuated.
In Obedience to the Spirit, we cultivate a strong and loving relationship with Self, allowing our inner guidance to be the compass which inspires us in every moment of our existence, gently guiding us through this breath to the next. We nurture our Selves in every capacity, honoring the temple which houses our soul as the Divine technology it is, and trusting the unfolding of life as Divine perfection. We come into space of loving and appreciating whatever presents in our experience, both internally and externally, knowing that all is in support of our highest journey. We have the wisdom that our journey has already been decided, and we are choosing the quality of it with every choice we make. We remember that Source Love is the fabric from which our unique Universe is manifest and therefore, All Is Well. We use our personal vibration as the litmus test for all choices…if doesn’t feel good and allow the body to stay relaxed, then it is not the choice for you in this moment, regardless of other’s decisions or opinions. Our love of Self becomes so strong that we have no choice other than to love and honor our Selves and others in every moment. We come to remember true, unconditional Love and radiate it throughout all of Creation. We remember that others are another ‘me’ and where they are and how they choose to express in their journey is perfect for their unique soul. We can feel in every particle of our Beingness our connection to Source, as well as All of Creation. We feel loved, cradled and supported by Source and Life, thus allowing us to unfold our wings to full capacity and fly as the angles we already are!
