Over a decade ago a teacher told me my life lesson was summarized in “A Course in Miracles” lesson 135, if I defend myself I am attacked. It talks about how we believe we have to plan for our future rather then trust and listen for internal guidance, directed by One who knows. It is only recently that I have begun to drop into this, let go of plans for the future, stop strategizing my safety. What a relief! Sometimes I catch myself and fall back into uncertainty, thinking, you have got to be kidding me. Your whole safety rest on something so ephemeral, on trust in God, that’s it!?! Then I hug that scared part of myself and assure that inner young one all is well and the Mystery has us covered. I assure her Divinity has our back and we can relax. Not always easy in such a chaotic world yet the peace that emanates from resting in that place, ah, such a miracle. Trust indeed.
